Quite an interesting but crucial post up there on Sans SQL blog.
The post explains thatΒ Implicit conversions in SQL Server could actually trigger a deadlock. And there are definitions for each important term (such as deadlock, implicit conversion, etc.) with an example.
I believe this post would be useful for those who work extensively on SQL Server.

This is a very painful issue that took my entire time and effort in solving it.
I am not sure how many of you know that SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services doesn’t support Safari and Chrome browsers (in fact, it’s only partially supported). But it’s high time, you know it. There is a browser support page on Microsoft website, that can be seen here: Planning for Browser Support.
I recently upgraded our SQL Server to 2012 and all my SSRS reports were working till last week. All of a sudden, my reports started showing up nothing other than the report header and parameters section on Google Chrome and Apple Safari browsers. Since the management team is fully on Apple technologies (Mac OS and Safari browser), it was just critical that these reports stopped working.
Stack Overflow forum has got this gem of an article, which helped me in fixing this issue: SSRS 2008 R2 reports are blank in Safari and Chrome.
The original question was for SQL Server 2008 R2, but the solution works for SQL Server 2012 as well.
I am sure, some of you would face this issue in future, as more and more clients are moving toward different technologies other than Microsoft for day-to-day IT requirements, such as Linux, Mac, mobile OSes (iOS, Android, WP, etc.), but would still want all their BI solutions work as it would on native technology base (in this case, Microsoft).

This post is NOT about Dynamics GP. But it’s about Dynamics NAV 2013. IΒ felt this post is very important for those who work on NAV.
Vjekoslav Babic, on Navigate Into Success blog, has shared the top 5 SQL Server improvementsΒ in NAV 2013Β which is going to considerably increase the overall NAV performance.
Very good post and a must read for those who are NAV consultants and end-users.

This one isΒ totally irrelevant toΒ Dynamics GP. But I thought I would share this piece of information, which nowadays is very relevant.
Most of the people struggle to configure Microsoft Exchange email on their smartphones, if it is based on Android or other OS platforms (such as Nokia Symbian).
This post from Muhammed Shiyas, Set Up Exchange E-Mail on an Android Mobile Phone and Nokia Symbian OS, explains step by step on how to configure the Microsoft Exchange email on such phones.

I started working on SharePoint 2010 as we have moved to Office 365 environment. The migration of all my customizations have to move on to Cloud now.
Upon working on an email workflow, where in, a notification should be sent to people (one or more) who are assigned to a particular task. This was working on our on-premise environment, but stopped working when I moved it to SharePoint Cloud. Following was the error message:
The form cannot be submitted. The user does not exist or is not unique.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.Β Log ID:5567
Correlation ID:026e0140-cb14-4b2e-95be-947ca2a3f86f
Upon checking all trivial settings to all custom coding, I found this article on web: People picker issue with Allow Multiple.
Let me brief the issue: SharePoint Cloud list does not get updated after you import the form template onto your Infopath 2010 and do any modifications to it on Infopath 2010.
Ideally, I should have first changed the field settings on SharePoint List settings firstΒ and then I should have imported the template onto my Infopath for further coding or modifications.
Thanks to the user (Anson Hidajat) for this crucial information. It saved me literally at least one man day’s effort.

Larry Bonfante of CIO Insights has got a really interesting article which educates about Customer Service and Customer Focus.
Need of the hour is Customer Focus more than Customer Service. It’s a very good post and I recommend our community to read this.

UPDATE: It looks like Microsoft Dynamics GP Support Services Blog had posted this article before Collins Dynamics GP blog. You can read both anyways.
May 31, 2012: Nicole Albertson from Microsoft Dynamics GP Support Blog explains Table Links in ExtenderΒ – Nicole, which can be used to remove an Extender record when the master record is deleted.
June 6, 2012:Β Collins Dynamics GP Blog shares the same topic on it’s postΒ Table Links in ExtenderΒ – Collins.
The concept of removing Extender records when master record is deleted is very very crucial. This post, hence, is important.

David Musgrave has posted on his blog about Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.
Partners can nominate their customers who satisfy the criteria of TAP. Customers those who would like to get nominated may want to contact their Partners.
The idea behind this program is to identify those customers who are ready and willing to test Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Beta, deploy GP 2013 on their production environment (with MSFT support, of course) and work closely with Microsoft to mold GP 2013 before it reaches the RTM release.
But, customers who are outside North America won’t be able to participate in this program. Microsoft is specifically looking for customers who are from North America.
More information can be read from David’s post (link given in the beginning of this post).

We do not have a built in T-SQL function to convert any string (or a statement) to Proper Case format, also known as Title Case. This I feel is a very simple feature that SQL Server could have provided us, but missing even in it’s latest version, SQL Server 2012.
I thought I would highlight some links which would be useful for T-SQL programmers in our community:
There are many more solutions, but above are noteworthy.
