Project Crescent – Beyond SSRS Reporting Tool

I must be following SQL Server Reporting Services Team Blog for loads of information and all that “What’s Coming Up?”.

Attending an evening session in Tech-Ed 2011 Middle East, and this is what I got to know which had been in fact announced some months back.

For those, who do not know about this (like me till this moment), this is the information. Project Crescent is a project currently on progress inside MSFT, which targets every kind of user, be it IT Developer or Corporate Power User or a No-Nonsense End-User) to visualize their Business Data; however they want it to be.

Deploying GP SSRS Reports – maxRequestLength Error & Resolution

I was deploying GP SSRS Reports on SQL Server 2008 64 Bit and was facing the following error message:

There was an exception running the extensions specified in the config file. —> Maximum request length exceeded.

Googled it and here the resolution: http://www.developmentnow.com/g/115_2006_4_0_0_735861/Request-Length-Exceeded.htm

I hope this would be a useful tip for people out there deploying SSRS for GP.

RW_ConvertToWordsAndNumbersParse – In GP2010

This is a very good RW function which is available from GP 2010. More information in David’s Blog: Announcing Report Writer Function RW_ConvertToWordsAndNumbersParse.

This means, an amount of any length can be converted to Words and displayed on a RW report. And this also supports MC. That’s another great news.
